Hasitha Sanujaya Mudiyanselage, MSc Student of Wrexham Glyndwr University

“I have always dreamt of studying abroad and after completing my degree and had plans to start my postgraduate studies abroad. UK has always been my dream study destination due to multiple reasons. First and foremost, some of the world’s oldest and most prestigious universities are located in the UK with a highly conducive and peaceful study environment with the best possible facilities for students. The United Kingdom is also known to be one of the best and safest destinations for international students – although there are numerous universities in the UK, I chose Wrexham Glyndwr University is the No. 1 university in Wales for ‘the teaching on my course’ by the National Students’ Survey 2021, well-reputed and offers exceptional facilities for international students. Ranked 2nd in the UK for Teaching Quality in the Sunday Times Good University Guide 2022 and the Guardian University Guide ranked the university 66th in the UK”.

“Also, the university was recognized as the first institute in North Wales to become the Stonewall diversity champions and it has also received the silver award for the quality of teaching in 2017. I am extremely fortunate to get study at Wrexham Glyndwr University. Grateful for the splendid support and guidance offered by the Wrexham Glyndwr University Sri Lanka Office who helped me from day one and provided me with up to date information, and went the extra mile to make sure I have all the necessary information and support for my visa process as well. I had a really hard time searching for accommodation, but the university gave an amazing discount for university accommodation within the Wrexham Village with the help of the Sri Lankan office. They did an amazing job supporting me throughout the process till I safely arrived at the university and I’m forever grateful”.

Wrexham Glyndŵr University offers more than a degree, giving students the chance to transform themselves, develop marketable skills, enhance their career prospects and build lasting relationships.  We pride ourselves on our dedication to student support, welfare and affordability in supporting our students from day one till they graduate from our university. Hasitha is a graduate from Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT), completed a Bachelor of Science specialising in Information Technology and has a career ambition to become a Quality Assurance Consultant in Sri Lanka, to be part of the growing IT industry in the country, and chose to study at Wrexham Glyndŵr University to the gain necessary skills and knowledge in addition to a globally recognised qualification.
