AAT Sri Lanka held their 17th Conference 2019

17th Annual Conference of AAT Sri Lanka was held on 2^{nd and} 3^rd September at the Cinnamon Grand, Colombo. Deliberations on the theme “Success = (Accountant’s role + Entrepreneur’s expectations) * Mindfulness” a topic which is more timely. This topic was selected based on what country needs at this moment, which is a contribution of committed professional to rebuild our economy with a view to attract more investments for economic growth of the country.

Conference 2019 was inaugurated under the patronage of Minister of Megapolis & Western Development, Hon. Patali Champika Ranawaka as the Chief Guest and Minister of Economic Reforms and Public Distribution Hon. (Dr.) Harsha De Silva as the Guest of Honour. Mr.Arjuna Herath, the Chairman of Professional Accountancy Organization Development Committee- International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) was graced the occasion as keynote speaker.

Stimulating Technical Sessions have been planned to coincide with the substance and the significance of the theme presented by eminent resource personnel on3rd September. Topics which was discussed at the technical sessions are, “Start-Up Guardian Angels: The Accountant”, Mindfulness as a Tool for Success and Inner Peace”, “Taxation and Technical Developments: Change for Better”, “From Entrepreneur’s ‘Dream’ to Accounting ‘Reality’ which revolves around the theme. The conference facilitates exchange of profound expertise of 16 resource personnel in chosen fields and expects to attract over 500 participants for the conference. There several activities at the inauguration day and this event were a great opportunity to meet and network leading professionals from various segments at a single venue. Participating in the Conference was believed to add value to knowledge and shape up skills on many aspects demanded by both the profession and the personality of the expected participants.
