AACS Graduation Fashion Show
Graduation Model Show – 2018/19 – 6thEdition, “Celebrating Five Years” was successfully concluded on 20th November 2019 at Cinnamon Lakeside, Colombo.
AACS 6th Edition Graduation Show was another gigantic and an outstanding event as a batch of young fresh fashion designers and professional models have showcased and awarded for their inspired talents. The event was intended to give an extraordinary yet unforgettable experience to the audience in every perspective than the past editions as it was “Celebrating Five Years”.
Collections of designers and segments of models were judged by an industry-best panel of judges namely Mr Michael Wijesuriya, Miss. Ruchira Karunaratne, Miss. Sammani Pathiranagama, Mrs Nilusha Fernando and Mr Tymeron Carvalho.
The award categories were The Best Collection-Winner won by Subasingha Gedara Kaushalya Nishadi Bandara, The Best Collection-1ST Runner Up won by Muthuporuthotage Salini Rasadi Perera, The Best Commercial Collection won by Subasingha Gedara Kaushalya Nishadi Bandara, The Best Stylish Collection won by Muthuporuthotage Salini Rasadi Perera, The Best Talent in Womenswear won by Wijemuni Ishara Umayangani Silva, The Best Talent in Menswear won by Kaluthanthri Arachchige Imasha Sri Danushika, The Best Model-Winner won by Dayan Dester Fernando, The Best Model-1St Runner Up won by Isuru Gilshan Abeykoon, The Best Catwalk Model won by Neththi Kumarage Karshini Brayani Perera, The Best Photogenic Model won by Isuru Gilshan Abeykoon, The Best Physiques Model won by Dayan Dester Fernando, The NEXT Fashion Model – 2019 won by Keshari Welikalage with other mini title awards of The Best Catwalk Fashion Model – 2019 won by Wathsala Daniel, The Best Photogenic Fashion Model – 2019 won by Ashvini Benadict, The Most Popular Fashion Model – 2019 won by Gomeda Sandamali and finally The Best National Costume Designer – 2019 also won by Subasingha Gedara Kaushalya Nishadi Bandara.
A big congratulation to, The Best Student Performance – Designer Category won by Charu Dhakshanika Liyanage with 100% scholarship from the course fee of Higher Diploma in Fashion Design programme and The Best Student Performance – Model Category won by Namal Hemantha Hettiaratchi with 100% scholarship from the course fee of Advanced Diploma in Professional Model programme.
The Fashion Show has structured the collection of outfits design by seven graduating students who were studying the Diploma in Fashion Design and four other designers who won titles for the best collection last year.
The Model Show has comprised of four segments by five graduating students who were studying the Diploma in Professional Model where each student showed their talents in catwalk techniques, posing, moods, handling of accessories/props/instruments etc for different looks and concepts under four segments were National Costume, Office Wear sponsored by Diliganz, Active Wear sponsored by FITUand Ethnic Wear sponsored by KAMSINS.
And two other models who won best student titles last year also showcased their winning walk for a special choreograph with their Haute Couture segment sponsored by Szei Moda by Shashika Hewagamage.
