Applications are accepted throughout the year.

An applicant may fulfil the minimum eligibility requirements to be admitted to the PhD Programme if he/she has any one of the following qualifications:

A Master of Philosophy Degree from a recognized institution acceptable to the Senate (I.I)

A Bachelor’s Honours Degree or of Level 6(SLQF) with a minimum GPA of 3.7 on a scale of 0-4, and passing the qualifying examination after a minimum period of one year with required merit acceptable to the Senate (I.II)

Registered to follow an MPhil degree programme in a related area at SLIIT and passing the qualifying examination conducted by SLIIT after a minimum period of one year with required merit acceptable to the Senate to upgrade the registration to the Degree programme. (I.III)

Fees informations An application processing fee of Rs. 1500/= has to be paid at the beginning of the registration for PhD Programmes.

Rs. 250, 000/= (payments are subject to Govt. Taxes)

To become a library member students have to keep a refundable security deposit of Rs 3000/=.

Refund Policy:
Full course fees paid will not be refunded. However, request for refund of fees may be considered if made before expiry of one week from the date of commencement of lectures. From the date of commencement of lectures 90% of the paid amount will be refunded. If a request for a refund is received after one week but before the end of the month, 50% of the paid amount will be refunded. Thereafter, there will be no refunds of fees.

Fees can be paid to the bank accounts of SLIIT at any branch.

The written examination of all year 1 compulsory
elective modules, all year 2 compulsory modules and
the relevant modules, complying with the specification
of the module.
The seminars; assignments, term papers and other project-based activities
Collected a minimum of 45 credits from course modules offered according to the curriculum approved by the
Senate and as indicated above (1).
Successfully completed the research projects carrying
